Week 2 Homework

The first one shows the image as it was originally.   The 2nd, 3rd and 4th images show the effect/curlicues.   2, 3 and 4 all use the same effect, but have different colors and degrees of the effect.

Colorbanding

This is an example of a gradient within an image.  Then I saved it using the gif optimizer.

On the first example I used the selection tool and chose rectangle.   I selected a center portion then inverted it and used Hue/Saturation/Lightness on the frame part and took out all the blue.   I inverted it again and aded a drop shadow using blue, then another drop shadow using black and different settings, then I saved it using the gif optimizer and used the following settings which tended to pixelize the image.

Then on the 2nd image I used the same selection, hue and drop shadow settings and used the gif optimizer but I changed the way it was to save.   The next image shows the settings I used and the image was clearer and more like the original, but larger in size.

On the 3rd image I used Adjust/Hue - Saturation/Hue/Saturation/Lightness and chose the settings shown below.   I took out all the blue color and grayscaped the rest.

On the 4th image I used Effects/Negative Image, which hasn't any settings and then I enhanced the blue color by using the same settings above, except I took the Hue all the way to the top after resetting the tool.   Then I saved it using the gif optimizer with 16 colors.

Well, my transparency didn't come out perfect.   The white around the eyes became transparent also, and there's a bit of white around the image.   I chose white as the transparent color in order to make this transparency.

That ends Week 2. Looking forward to the next week.
